Patienten mit Marfan-Syndrom haben häufig Probleme mit dem Herzen und den Blutgefäßen. Mitunter sind diese Probleme sehr ernst. Die häufigste Komplikation betrifft die Aorta (das große Blutgefäß, das Blut vom Herzen in den Körper transportiert). Die Herzklappen können ebenfalls betroffen sein. Andere Blutgefäße als die Aorta sind seltener betroffen. Eine frühzeitige und genaue Diagnose ist entscheidend, um medizinische Probleme mit dem Herzen und den Blutgefäßen zu erkennen und zu behandeln, bevor sie zu potenziell lebensbedrohlichen Notfällen werden.
