Parents asked…we responded!
Kids Club, our new virtual group, is for children ages 9-12 with Marfan syndrome, Loeys-Dietz, VEDS, and related genetic aortic and vascular conditions. It is designed to increase opportunities for social interaction with others who have a similar diagnosis.
The Kids Club will run for approximately 60 minutes and will be held from 7-8 pm ET on the third Thursday of each month, beginning March 18, 2021. It will include fun, age-appropriate games and activities, such as Bingo, Would You Rather, Scavenger Hunt, and 5 Second Rule, and will be led by our social worker, Andrea Friedman, MSW. The group is not designed to offer therapy, counseling or advice, but rather is an opportunity for participants to have fun and get connected with others in the same age group.
Participants must be between the ages of 9-12 and have a diagnosis of Marfan syndrome, Loeys-Dietz, VEDS, or a related genetic aortic and vascular condition. Parental or guardian consent is required.
All participants must have access to a computer or another device with a camera, as the group will be held on Zoom. It is expected that children join on camera and participate for the entire hour.
To register, please provide the information required, including the electronic parental/guardian consent form.
For more information or if you have any questions, please contact Andrea Friedman, MSW, at afriedman@marfan.org.
