Registration is now open for the Third Spanish-Language Summit, featuring information about Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, and VEDS for affected people and their families.
The summit will be virtual and conducted entirely in Spanish and is scheduled for January 20, 2024, from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm Eastern Time. The summit can be viewed from anywhere in the world with a smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer and Internet connection. There is no cost to register. Being able to hear medical information in our native language is an essential part of gaining the tools necessary to enjoy optimal health while living with a genetic aortic and vascular condition,” said Bert Medina, The Marfan Foundation’s Board of Directors Chairperson and a member of the committee planning the event. “We appreciate the experts who will make the day an event not to be missed, and the community members who will enrich the program through their participation.”
The Summit, which attracted a worldwide audience last year, will consist of medical presentations on topics important to people with Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, Vascular Ehlers-Danlos (VEDS) and other genetic aortic and vascular conditions. There will also be a panel discussion with patients who will share their experiences living with an aortic or vascular genetic condition.
The organizing committee for the Summit consists of Juan Bowen, MD, Mayo Clinic’, Rochester, MN; Arturo Evangelista, MD, Hospital Universitario Valle d’Hebron, Barcelona, Spain; Laura Muino Mosquera, MD, Ghent University Hospital, Ghent, Belgium; Shaine Morris, MD, PhD, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston; and Bert Medina, General Manager of WPLG-TV Local 10 Miami. The community representatives are Betcy Matarrita, of Costa Rica, and Adriana Rivera, of Florida.
Speakers include medical experts on the organizing committee as well as Anna Sabaté Rotés, MD, PhD, of Hospital Universitario Valle d’Hebron, Barcelona, Spain.

Ya están abiertas las inscripciones para la Tercera Cumbre que ofrece información sobre Marfan, Loeys-Dietz y VEDS para las personas afectadas y sus familias.
Esta cumbre será virtual e íntegramente en español. Está programado para el 20 de enero de 2024, de 10:00 a.m. a 12:30 p.m., hora del este. La cumbre se puede ver desde cualquier parte del mundo con un teléfono inteligente, tableta, computadora y conexión a Internet. La inscripción es gratuita. La Cumbre, que atrajo a una audiencia mundial el año pasado, consistirá en presentaciones médicas sobre temas importantes para las personas con Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, Ehlers-Danlos Vascular (VEDS) y otras afecciones genéticas aórticas y vasculares. También habrá una mesa redonda con pacientes que compartirán sus experiencias viviendo con una afección genética aórtica o vascular.
