Know the Signs, Fight for Victory

Attend an Event

The Marfan Foundation hosts many events throughout the year to raise awareness of Marfan syndrome and related conditions, and to raise critical funds to support our mission. Events include formal HeartWorks Galas, family-friendly  Walks for Victory events, cocktail hours, and local events arranged by volunteer leaders.

Educational events include our four-day conference and various regional symposia. These opportunities bring together individuals, families, and medical experts for information and support for the Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, VEDS, and related conditions community.

HeartWorks Gala

Founded 25 years ago by former Board Chair Karen Murray, the first HeartWorks was a small event held at a fashion showroom in New York City. Since then, HeartWorks has become a star-studded event in some of the most exquisite locations in New York and has expanded to other cities, including St. Louis, Houston, and Chicago.

The galas provide an opportunity to recognize members of our community. We have honored many of the world’s leading medical experts on Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, and VEDS, business leaders, and other volunteers who have made significant contributions to advance the Foundation’s mission. Each event also provides an intimate look into the lives of those affected, raising awareness and creating impact.

Since its inception, HeartWorks has raised more than $15 million through corporate support, community leadership, and participation. This funding is critical to the Foundation’s programs and services, which include education, patient support, and research.
